Wednesday 28th January

Happyyyy birthdayyyyy to Hollie!! :) woop wooooop

...

Today we added more clips to the title sequence and started to put together clips for the 2 minuted os the soap. For the title sequence we have to be careful as we can only have about 30 seconds so we have to make sure we don't go over this limit which is difficult as we have a lot of images and clips we wanted to include.
Unfortunately we had a technical difficulty and lost our title sequence and the start of the 2 minutes of the soap. The technician is trying to sort this out so hopefully we won't have to redo it!

In the next two lessons today we plan to do a bit more filming with Katie and Suj at and outside Hollie's house! Hopefully by the end of today we will have the filming finished!

Monday 26th January

Today i filmed the Gemma getting ready scene. This took a while as i had to go to her house and wait for her to get ready!
We also started editing our title sequence and put the song in which we found fitted in with the images and clips. We will continue working on this next lesson.

Thursday 22nd January

Today we re-filmed the argument scene. One of the actors couldnt come so we had to change some bits around. We still had an argument scene but we filmed with a different character and changed some of the script. We will have to make changed to the characters and script later on.

Wednesday 21st January

We uploaded the pictures and film clips which we took yesterday for our title sequence.

We looked at the footage we had and although we still needed to film more scenes we started putting together the footage for the 2 minutes of our soap opera. #

We made a plan of the scenes we still need to film or re-film an when we were going to do this. This was helpful as we knew when we were going to do what and when.

We plan to re-film the big arument scene in tommorows lesson.

Monday 19th January

Today we uploaded the footage which we filmed on sunday. We did have a few problems with the footage as some of it had not cpatured properly so we will have to re-film some parts. We also planned to film the Amy getting ready scene but we could not get in touch with the actor! so instead we went around cotteridge and bournville to take some pictures and film cilps for our title sequence.

We also picked the song for our title sequence and evaluated why this was a good choice.

Sunday 18th January

This was the first day of our filming for our two minute soap opera. We met with our group and all the actors we had selected for our soap. This included Katie, Gemma, Adam, Travis, Matt and Rory. We first filmed the A.j and Madeline in bed scene. We filmed this in Adam's bedroom.

Next we filmed the quick scene of Katie running out the house, followed by the A.j and Amy flirting scene. These scenes took places outside Adams House.

Lastly we filmed the argument scene which included all of the characters. We did this in the park by Adam's house.

It was not a quick and easy process becasue we experimented with different angles and it was hard for the actors not to laugh! Unfortunately when filming the last bit it got too dark and the scene is meant to be set in the morning so we will have to film this scene again.

However overall it was quite successful as the actors all worked well together even though some of them had never met before. And we filmed evrything we planned to film today.

Thursday 15th January

Wednesday 7th January

Today we had a workshop, a group came into school to help us with our skills. We were also joined by the creative media group from Bishop Chanellor. We re-enacted a scene from The Bill.
We split into three groups of about 6. Our task was to practice the scene we were given and to act it out and film it. We all had different roles, 4 actors to play each part, a director and the camera man.
We learned how you need lots of different people and time to make one small scene and a lot of time and effort goes into it. We experimented with different camera skills using master-shots and close-ups  creating different effects. It took a lot of time to get it right as the acting wasn't easy so we learned this can be quite difficult.
I got on with all my group and i think everyone did a good job at their role.

I think the workshop was very helpful and will help me a lot when we make our soap opera. It also gave me a better idea of how the media industry works and i enjoyed it a lot!

Wednesday 17th December

During our four lessons today we gave our pitch on the channel, time and scheduling of our soap to the rest of the class which was assesed. I think the pitch went well as we gave good points as to why we chose the channel, time etc. We then did some feedback with the rest of the group to say what went well with the pitch and what could be imporved.
We then finished writing the script and completed the final printed copy.
We gave a part of the scrpit to each group member so over the holidays we could storyboard this part of the script and be completed when we come back.
After the holidays we our ready to start filming.
